Charitable Objects
The following is from our governing document (Trust Deed). The Trustees
must apply the income of the Charity in furthering the following objects:
- The relief of financial hardship,
either generally or individually, among people living or working in Uganda
(in particular by supporting the charitable work of Bwindi Orphanage Development
centre) by providing such persons with goods or services which they could
not otherwise afford lack of means and by making grants of money for providing
or paying for items services or facilities.
- The relief of sickness and the preservation
of health among people residing permanently or temporarily
in Uganda (in particular by supporting the charitable work of Bwindi Orphanage
Development centre) by providing or assisting in the provision of equipment,
facilities and services.
- To advance the education
of the public in Uganda and of the pupils at schools in Uganda (in particular
by supporting the charitable work of Bwindi Orphanage Development centre)
by providing and assisting in the provision of educational facilities,
resources and staffing.
- To develop the capacity and skills
of the members of the socially and economically disadvantaged communities
of Uganda (in particular by supporting the charitable work of Bwindi Orphanage
Development centre) in such a way that they are better able to identify,
and help meet, their needs and to participate more fully in society.
- To promote sustainable development
for the benefit of the public by:
(i.) The relief of poverty and the improvement of the conditions of life
in socially and economically disadvantaged communities of Uganda (in particular
by supporting the charitable work of Bwindi Orphanage Development centre)
(ii.) The promotion of sustainable means of achieving economic growth
and regeneration.
(iii.) The preservation, conservation and the protection of the environment
and the prudent use of resources.
