How you Can Help

Obviously we can make good use of ‘cash’ donations – and unlike many larger charities we are run by volunteers and are able to keep overheads to a minimum. We do not use mass mailings and similar expensive fund raising techniques.

We would also appreciate donations of goods for the orphanage. Postage is expensive therefore it is impractical to send heavy, low value items. However computer/IT equipment is expensive and difficult to get hold of in Uganda; Jo took two laptops and an elderly digital camera on her last visit but we would love to send more IT equipment – a scanner would be useful for sending us letters and drawings and equipment to record music and dancing would also be very useful for publicity and possibly income generation.

If you are planning a visit to the region please get in touch! We would love some recordings of the various activities and children needing a sponsor, and of those who already have a sponsor so we can pass them on. Or perhaps you have already visited and have photos or experiences to share (or even recordings of music and dance).

Other help: ideas for items to sell at gallery shop; finding businesses that might be interested in supporting projects; find a suitable Patron for the orphanage to help generate interest and awareness around the world. If you know a good international parcel courier with reasonable rates or any other services that might be of use to us please get in touch.

Perhaps your company has a charity fund or supports employee fund raising and volunteering? Maybe your local school or youth group would be interested in a partnership with Ugandan children, or would your club consider supporting us in some way?
